Marvin “Marv” K. Owczarzak, 71 of Lambertville, MI, passed Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in The Toledo Hospital. Born May 9, 1942 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Stephen and Cecelia (Sekulski) Owczarzak. A 1960 graduate of Macomber High School, he married Barbara Jean Dietsche on May 4, 1963 in Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Toledo, OH. Marv was employed by Detroit Edison, Fermi II Plant in Newport, MI for 21 years, retiring in 2004. Prior, he was a pipefitter/plumber for the Chrysler Corporation in Perrysburg, OH for 15 years. He was currently employed by The Francis Family Y.M.C.A. in Temperance, MI. He was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Toledo and the Toledo Ski Club. Marv enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing and small engine repair.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 50 years, Barbara Jean. Daughters, Tracy Ann (David) Mueller and Jody Lynn (Michael) DuShane. Grandchildren, Kathryn and Kelci Mueller and Raleigh and Zeke DuShane. Marv was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Greg Coon.
Visitation will be 3:30 pm – 9:00 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where scripture services will be Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 6:30 pm by Deacon Jim Dudley and Eulogy by Pastor Rick DuShane. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Pkwy. (at Bennett Road) Toledo, OH, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr. Chris Kardzis, officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – Resurrection Cemetery.
